It was a hectic day in many respects on Sunday with finals day and the annual presentation night at the club. During the day many of our THSG pupils were doing battle, some against each other which is always a tough one for us!! Many of the matches went down to the final few holes, with some great golf being played.
The championship matches were between Cam Haines and Tim Wyatt, Sophie Price and Hannah Whibley. Both matches were played over 36 holes and amazingly they were both all square after the morning 18. Both matches were hard fought with Cam winning 4&3 and Sophie winning 2&1.
Hannah Whibley although narrowly missing out in the final capped off a fantastic season at the club. Hannah has worked really hard on her game taking regular lessons, embracing the challenges with some great rewards along the way.
Yet more success stories came from Steve Price and Lois Price winning the Howard Porter mixed knockout, both continue to maintain a great standard by working hard both on and off the course.
Liam Greig capped off a great weekend by winning the Huggett Putter finals, then picking up his mountain of trophies from various junior competitions. Liam's handicap has gone from 16 to 9 this summer and really is one to keep on eye on over the next few years.
Clive Whitson & Martin Pimlow won the Cinderford Cup after a close match with Harry Griffiths & Simon Mills. Tim Kefalas won the Howard Bradley, new member Jason Skidmore won the Hospital Cup and Steve & Robin Eckley won the Maclean trophy. All in all it was another great finals day at the club.
