Its been a great couple of weeks for myself and the THSG. Last week i spent time in San Diego with some of the worlds top industry professionals at the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI). The main purpose of the trip was to take my final level of their junior golf accreditation. The course was held at the Titleist's impressive purpose build research and development facility in Carlsbad. The multi million pound facility is home to the TPI.
Over the past 2 years i have worked my way through the 3 levels learning the science and practical application of their junior program. Its helped me broaden my knowledge on what it takes to produce a world class training program for junior golfers. We now hope to design and implement a similar program here at the THSG, which we hope to launch in 2018.
Heading up the course was the founder of TPI Greg Rose, Dennis McDade who looked after the golf technical side, Milo Bryant who is an expert in strength and conditioning and Dr Ernst Zwick a medical professional who all specialise in the development of young athletes in sport. The TPI junior program has been designed from years of research from these top professionals and is constantly being evolved.
It is the most comprehensive junior golf program in the industry and i for one can't wait to implement the skills and techniques i have learnt over the past two years. This will mean we will make key changes to how we approach junior golf here a the club and THSG. We will use the latest techniques that are proven all over the world in the most successful junior academies. Tour players that have gone through similar academies include the likes of Jordan Speith and Justin Thomas.
