This is it the last content of my first year at Kirkwood can't believe how quickly it has all come around. I would firstly just like to thank all of you back home and at Ross on wye club who have followed and continued to support me throughout my first year away in America.
Well what a past month it has been, becoming Regional champion was an amazing achievement for myself and such an overwhelming feeling with all the kind messages I got from you guys! So I thank you very much again for that!
Last week we took our trip to Arizona for Nationals after winning regionals by 16 shots. Even though myself and the team didn't play to our best potential it was a fantastic experience. A great golf course that was played in 110 degrees Fahrenheit was a tough test but was something to remember. I hit rounds of 80, 73, 78 and 79, not my week at all but looking to build on this experience and move forward in a positive light! Coming home and competing in the county and Nationals events will be something I'm keen to do and playing for the Ross Men's A team.
But probably the most important and best achievement for me this year was my academics, I'm so pleased to come out of the first year passing all my classes with a total GPA of 3.3.
So next Thursday 8th of June I arrive home for the summer. I am very much looking to getting back and working in the pro shop and being back at Ross on Wye golf club to see you all! Remember to put your names down in the pro shop with me for pros prize, it'll be a great chance to play with some of you!
All the best
Niall
